My daughter is 14 months old, she has one tooth and it is her canine on top. Should I be concerned?

Is it normal for her to get back teeth before she gets her four front teeth?

It's a little different, but not really cause for concern.
Reply:no concern sometimes it happens
Reply:why should you be concerned?

it's perfectly normal.
Reply:Nope. She's just a fast grower.
Reply:have you talked to your doctor about it? there is a sort of order in which teeth come in... the two bottom teeth are supposed to be the first... some teeth never do come in... i know a couple people with that situation, but talk to your doctor about it... maybe there are special cases like yours :) good luck
Reply:The only thing that you should be concerned about is that she should've had more teeth a LONG time ago.
Reply:She is a little delayed, was she a preemie they are often late. Normally the anterior teeth erupt first but not always. If I were you I would schedule a visit with a pediatric dentist for a quick check and possible dental xray just to let you know everything is fine.
Reply:Don't be concerned at all. My daughter was only six months old when I felt a bite to my finger that she even had teeth and four all at one time, which I never had noticed. Guess it was because she was never sick in cutting her teeth like most babies are. No temperature, not crossy or whining, nothing! The doctor stated that was normal and not to worry. He said that some babies are even born with teeth. The only thing that concerned me, as he explained, was because of her young age and her cutting her teeth so early, that I would be forced into brushing her teeth and taking her to the dentist as to avoid any tooth decay because of her still taking the bottle.

I learned a lot in those days! So don't be alarmed, all is well! A friend of mine, her daughter, looked like a vampire, as she had two canine teeth. Now that was funny!

A blessing that your daughter has cut her teeth late, as you won't need to worry about dentist visits at such an early age.
Reply:does she have any swelling or bumps in the front areas? If not you could get the ped to look at her if he feels like there might be a problem he could recomend a dentist. The dentist could take exrays to see if the teeth are formed. All kids are different.
Reply:While kids normally do cut their incisors first, it is not unheard of for children to get their teeth in a different order and as late as your daughter. I really wouldn't be worried. If you're still concerned, certainly take her to a dentist for x-rays. But, it sounds perfectly normal to me!
Reply:It is fine and normal that the other canine has not erupted yet. Some children will get teeth sooner and others later, I wouldn't worry. If you are concerned it is not a bad time to have them examined but I highly doubt that any x-rays would be taken at this point. The children I see rarely have missing teeth and the longer it takes for her to get them the less likely she is to get cavities now because the teeth arn't exposed to the acids formed when she eats.
