Could my toothache be caused by wisdom teeth at 27yo?

Over the last few weeks I've been experiencing a painful swelling sensation in my mouth that seems to move above several teeth (namely the canine and first and second premolar).

A few months ago, the dentist didn't spot any cavities and I don't think I need a root canal. Tapping the teeth affected with silverware is no more annoying than tapping any other and isn't painful.

Someone suggested that my wisdom teeth are moving my other teeht around, but I thought they had finished coming in years ago in my early 20s. I'm almost 28, can my wisdom teeth still move around, should I get them taken out.

I was told that since I'm 6'5" and my jaw was so large, I would have plenty of room for them to settle in.

Could my toothache be caused by wisdom teeth at 27yo?
Pain and swelling in that area can't be linked to wisdom teeth. Real possibilities could be:

1. A previously filled tooth has "died" and needs an RCT. Altho you can sometimes find this by tapping teeth, it is also necessary to test with a cold spray, and perhaps Xrays. If you've never had filled teeth in this area then it would be unnecessary to test them.

2. Have you had a recent cold/flu? Sometimes sinusitis above these teeth can give referred pain to the teeth.

If your wisdom teeth haven't come thru yet, then by your age it would be very unlikely to happen. Any pain from them would be at the back of your teeth anyway.
Reply:yes allmost certain it could be your wisdom tooth
Reply:You don't sound very wise, so I am going to go with "no"!
Reply:i got my first wisdom tooth at 34yrs
Reply:Yes it could
Reply:why not go and ask a dentist?
Reply:Honey, make sure your not pregnant, because babies take calcium out of your teeth,I had so many problems when i got pregnant with my teeth, and you still can have a period and be pregnant,so you might want to check into it
Reply:get an x-ray for your jaw...that would tell you if the pain is due to the wisdom tooth.!!!

am 21 and experienced same type of problem a year back...and had to get my wisdom tooth removed surgically..!!!!!!!

it pained as hell man.........get proper medication before it gets worse..!!!!!!
Reply:Sounds like you could have an infection with a wisdom tooth..

If tapping it u feel no pain, then it means the root is dead, and better to have em take it out.

but first they will put u on an antibiotic, to clear any infection..

You'll be fine.

I had three taken out at the same time..

I still have one, the root is dead, never bothers me, but I had a slight infection two months ago, too the antibiotic, and the tooth is fine.. but the infection could come back, the dentist told me, so this one is the last to go..
Reply:yes theres an old wives tale that says your life is half over when your wisdom teeth come in , so its normal for them to come in late, but see a dentist, in case theres not enough room for them he can pull your 2nd molars to make room
Reply:Absolutely YES!
Reply:I have been suffering with very painful gum infections for 4 years all because of wisdom teeth. Have the bloody things out, I wish I had now and saved myself excrutiating pain, feeling sick and ill and lots of lost time ff work and college. I am almos the same age as you and would certainly advise getting them out.
Reply:Your wisdom tooth can be the cause of your toothache.

Toothaches or shall we say strange pain on one of your teeth or the gum-line is usually the starting point of severe or worst dental problems. Aside from giving you sleepless nights of painful miseries and difficult chewing, it could actually threaten your health.
