10 month old with 8 teeth and 8 coming in?

My 10 month old already has 4 teeth on top and 4 on the bottom. He got his first tooth @ 4 months. He now has 8 huge, red lumps in his gums....2 of which are his canine/eye teeth and 2 that are his pre-molars-the big ones. I still can't believe he's getting 8 teeth in at once, has anyone else had this happen? Bless his heart, he's always grabbing at his chin....

Yes! But my daughter got 6 at once, and the poor baby cried night and day. I finally broke down and cried with her. Generally a happy go lucky little girl turned into a sad, red cheeked, running nose and bad diaper rash all from this.


They finally all came threw in about one week and she went back to her old self. THANK GOD! I never, ever had this happen with my other 2 kids. Now my granddaughter at 9 months old only has 4 teeth. (It's funny this posting you wrote just came up because it was only yesterday my daughter in law and I was discussing this topic on teething.)

Reply:I haven't had it happen where 8 come in all at once. My dd is 1 and has had 8 teeth for several months. But when she did get them, she would have 2 come through one right after the other, almost overlapping times when they were popping through.
Reply:my daughters almost 9 months and her teeth have been coming in like crazy too. she's got 2 on top and 2 on bottom and i think 3 more coming in right now. i feel so bad for her and she's always biting on everything and she's so crabby too. but on the other end my niece is only 2 weeks older than my daughter and she still doesnt' have any teeth. i guess it just varies with each kid.
Reply:My 14 month old son has seven teeth coming in right now too, it sucks. 2 canines, 4 molars, and 1 other one. It causes them alot of pain and discomfort, not to metion what we as the parents get to go through. Our angel turn into cranky little monsters for a while.
