Is it possible for an infant to get their back teeth, like canines, before their front teeth?

My 3 month old son recently started showing all the signs of teething but when I went to look for the front teeth to come through, I didn't see anything. His upper canines have started poking through and now his lower canines look like they will through soon. I just want to know how common this is.

Reply:happens all the time

frozen waffles cut into little strips are good for teething
Reply:Heck, some babies are born with teeth! :-) Every baby develops differently. Here's a site that shows the charts and gives more info on babies and their teeth and when they are supposed to come out, etc. But like I said - no baby is the same! Have you asked your parents? Grandparents? It may be hereditary? You can always consult with a pediatric dentist if you are unsure.
