Kitten teeth?

i have a 6 mon. old kitten who has already lost his baby teeth(at least the 4 main canines). He was with me and did some thing and evidentially knocked a side(kinda towards the back) tooth out...or loose because he is fighting it, crunching, and bleeding, i am REALLY concerned about this and i cant take him to the vet, its 11 pm! is the side teeth suppose to come out or did it really get knocked out and in the morning take him to a vet and it supose to be in there perm.?

Side note

Dont joke with me, i really am scared about this. Even though he seems okay now...still i cant help but worry.

Kitten teeth?
Kittens have "baby" teeth on the sides, too. Unfortunately, with the age of your kitten, it is impossible to say whether the loose tooth is a baby tooth falling out, or a damaged permanent tooth. The permanent teeth are usually in by about 6 months of age, so either could theoretically be occurring.

It is uncommon for a cat to lose a permanent cheek (side) tooth at that age unless they had pretty major head trauma, like a major fall, got hit by a car, kicked in the head, etc. When a veterinarian examines the cat, he or she will be able to determine whether it's a baby tooth just coming out normally (and they could go ahead and pull it if it's that loose), or if it's a permanent tooth that has been damaged. Hopefully it's the former.

If your cat appears OK otherwise, it can wait until the morning. If the tooth is gone by morning, then it was probably a loose baby tooth. If it's still dangling, take him to you veterinarian.

Good luck!
Reply:Yes, he lost another baby tooth. Cats lose the "side teeth" as well as the canines. It's normal and should stop bleeding soon, just like with a small child that loses a tooth.
Reply:you can pull it out if its very loose, I did that with my chihuahua %26amp; my kitten they were fine the chihuahua bled a little. You dont neet to take him to the vet you can also give him a toy that he will bite on %26amp; it will pop the tooth out/
Reply:I agree with the other lady... at 6 months most of his baby teeth should be about all gone... but all cats (and people) are different and some loose them a little later. All baby teeth fall out, but typically the last teeth to go are the canines (the 4 long pointy teeth toward the front). My vet told me owners rarely see baby teeth, simply because cat's often swallow them... however I was fortunate and found my kitten's canine on the floor about a month ago (he's about 6 months old now too). It was covered in fresh blood, and was hallow in the top inside. The edge part that was near the gums was super ridged and thin...

Anyway, if I had found my cats tooth dangling there, I would be worried too... but I'm a worry wart and I've made many unnecessary trips to the vet over the years... so it's hard to say. I guess I would suggest judging it by the size (hopefully you have another full grown cat to compare it with, baby teeth are a bit smaller then regular teeth) Either way, go with your gut in the morning. If nothing else, don't feel bad about waiting until tomorrow to take him in... if it was permanent tooth that came loose it probably is uncomfortable and hurts a little, but nothing that can't wait 8 more hours (besides, the car trip and the whole vet experience is way more scary for them then a loose tooth :-)

Best wishes!
