Do puppies lose all their baby teeth, including their canines?

My 4 month old chocolate lab puppy "Reesee" lost a canine today and her gums are swollen and I found drops of blood on the floor but no tooth. I always thought puppies lost all their baby teeth except for their canines. She bites on her leash when being walked so I'm worried that she may have accidentally broken it off.

Yes, they lose all their teeth, including canines (thank God, nothing is sharper than puppy canines!!). Then as the adult teeth start to come in so will their big boy/girl molars... that is when the FUN teething starts :)

You may want to soak hand towels in water, roll them up, and then freeze them. These make great teething aids. Reesee can suck and chomp away... feels good on their sore gums. Just be sure to always be around when she is chewing the towel. When it starts to get soggy, wet it again and freeze it.

Good luck with miss Reesee!!

P.S. Chocolate is my favorite favor, hehe, I have a "chocolate" Newfoundland
Reply:She'll lose them all, they swallow some of the teeth so you won't see many just lying around. Her gums are going to be sore while she is cutting her adult teeth, nothing to be concerned about. Just make sure you give her lots of chew toys to soothe the discomfort.
Reply:Pups tend to lose all their "milk teeth" at five or six months old. Most will simply swallow them or lose them inside of a stuffed toy (I had a pup that wold spit them out in my hand). You pup may have either lost hers naturally, or if no second tooth is present, maybe a little prematurely. Either way, a brand new adult dog tooth will be appearing soon and she will be fine.

Hope this helps!
Reply:yes they loose all their teeth
Reply:Shes fine ,dogs do that. Try to buy some chew toys for her to gnaw on so the itch in her gums will stop. Also toy puppies will not be able to chew their way through a whole lot of surfaces, but they can chew at irreplaceable furniture and moldings enough to do quite a bit of damage. Be sure to puppy-proof your home before the curious, mischievous and “teething” toy puppy arrives.

Electrical cords and wires are especially hazardous to teething toy puppies. They need to be out of reach or taped to walls. A puppy could electrocute himself while happily chewing away on an electrical cord. Regularly look for dropped pens, pencils, rubber bands, paper clips, and children’s small toys on your floor. Teething puppies can be very mouthy, chewing on everything they can latch onto. Nylabones and other chew toys are an absolute must for your new teething toy puppy.
Reply:Yes, they do. Also, puppies usaully swallow all of their teeth. This does not hurt , and it is not bad for them.
