I need some options on fixing crooked teeth... right now, I have none.?

I am 19 yo. I'll be 20 in a few weeks. I have grown up in what society would call "lower class." I don't have any MAJOR problems with my teeth... just two, that I can't stand.


I don't know the technical term for it, but my two teeth, the ones in between the canines and the front teeth, grew in slanted towards the back of my throat...not completely, just a little. I grew up trying to make the best of everything that life handed me. Working out a lot, to "fit in," keeping good grades.. but this is something that I can't hide. I'm going to start college come this Spring... Right now I'm working towards buying a car, to make the commute easier.





My question is, for someone with not a lot of money(and I mean, very little) are there any options to fixing this problem? I have tried convincing myself that it's not that big of a deal... but I really, truthfully, deep down, just want to smile and have it mean what everyone elses does... happiness. and when I do, I don't feel it. Thank you

Reply:I was poor and had braces, and it was just fine. insurance can cover this if it is deemed 'necessary' go for it. its painless and will be 1 to 2 years.
Reply:go to your nearest Dental School and see what they can suggest - there are more dentists there than on here, and they can actually see your teeth LOL!

Getting your education and transportation in order sounds like it's a big priority to you at present time. That's good - it should be.





My recommendation is to keep your oral health in great shape by ensuring that the teeth and gums are healthy and stay healthy. Then, in the future, when you have more $$ at your disposal get the treatment you need to handle the appearance of your teeth properly. This may include braces in your case, but we have many adults who get braces and they do very well. Don't be in a rush to screw up your life's priorities - you can always get your teeth straightened, but don't be in a rush to do something that won't be good in the long run. Take your time, explore all the possibilities with a qualified dentist and then work your plan.
Reply:bonding would be the cheapest option right now, but in order to make crooked teeth appear straight a really think layer has to be put on so it would feel funny.





veneers are another option, but this is almost as much as braces.





and braces is another option.





you could check with a dental school or get on a payment plan at a dentist office.
