My son is 10 years old and he's only lost one of his canine teeth is this normal?

You need to check to see if any of his other teeth are starting to grow in. Most of my baby teeth didn%26#039;t come out on their own before the new ones started growing in so the dentist had to pull them.

Take him to a dentist to make sure everything is ok if you are worried.

one out of 4? then maybe he just dosnt have permanent canines....its not a big deal...they can do the job!
Reply:Hi,

I assume you asked the other question about your 10 year old son. Has he lost other teeth, or just the canine?

The average for new canine teeth to come in is

for the upper teeth: 11-12 yrs old.

for the lower teeth: 9-10 yrs old.

Anywhere around that is fine. Boys are a little later than girls, so no problems.

I%26#039;d assume that the one he lost is a lower tooth. He%26#039;ll be fine. The upper canines are of the last permanent teeth to come in. Don%26#039;t look for them yet.
