My dogs canine tooth has gone pinky brown, what is wrong with it? Is it bruised and will it recover?

My Bernese MD is extremely well looked after, but a few weeks ago I noticed that her upper canine is discoloured. It was darker browny purple, but it is getting lighter, and is now more pinky coloured with a hint of brown. Could she have bruised it with a toy, or something, or worse still cracked it somehow? Is it possible to bruise a tooth? I am please to say that it is getting lighter, but will it ever get back to the beautiful ivory colour of a normal canine tooth? Her last trip to the vet was very traumatic, and I think she will have to be put under anesthetic for a check up. Please can someone help me before I go to that length, as I am frightened of anesthetic, and I really love my loyal friend and would hate to lose her.

Get her back in. She can die of an abcessed tooth if that gets infected.
Reply:When things are looking better leave it alone only when thing get worse then get some pro help
Reply:it will recover soon don%26#039;t worry
Reply:I would take her in to the vet again. You can never tell whats exactly wrong because dogs, dont talk. It might be a cavity, but u never know
Reply:The only reason a tooth would become brown or pink is due to decay or trauma. Either way it will not get better on it%26#039;s own and will most likely abscess. Your local vet can remove the tooth which will be better for your dog%26#039;s health. Make sure you don%26#039;t forget to brush your dog%26#039;s teeth regularly
Reply:CALL the vet, explain the situation. If they tell you to bring her in you can always swing by first and get some anti-anxiety meds.

Though getting a sedated BMD to move might be a bit of a project...(I%26#039;m trying to visualize butt-pressing her into your vehicle - you%26#039;re getting flattened...)

Could the Dr maybe pop out and take a look at her, in the parking lot?
