My German Shepherd got hurt today. How will busted canine teeth affect her in dog shows?

If her overall quality is excellent, the busted teeth won%26#039;t matter..Judges can see that it is injury, and won%26#039;t panalize an otherwise good dog..

I really do know, from my firend%26#039;s experience. His poodle finished with a badly broken tooth.

I would say that she wouldnt be able to compete in a dog show now. The judges look at that. Sorry.
Reply:OMG. Your dog got hurt, and all you are concerned about is how she%26#039;ll do in dog shows?!?!?!?!!? If I didn%26#039;t think I would get reported for abuse, I would SO give you a piece of my mind right now.
Reply:tremulously
Reply:WOW.........You must be REALLY BORED, or nuts........I%26#039;ll give you the benefit of the doubt though...........
Reply:Theoretically an injury should not affect the judging of the dog... in reality it does very much so. What do you mean by busted canine teath? Have her canine%26#039;s actually been broken off and how old is she? If she is over 9 months it will affect her. If she is very young and still has her puppy teeth it will not be a problem at all. Fortunately, bite is only quickly judged and it will not affect her judgeing very much. You will have to explain to each and every judge at every show that she broke her teeth in an accident, but so long as it does not affect her overall bite pattern it shouldn%26#039;t be a major concern.
Reply:check the guidelines...do you have a book? as i recall they do look..poor puppy...
Reply:with busted chops she cant win first place but if you look around there are dentures for dogs
Reply:You should worry less about the damn dog show and worry more about getting her to the vet.
Reply:Yeah.....I personally, would be caring more about my dog and it%26#039;s health....Rather than some stupid competition! Geez, man! What%26#039;s the matter with some people? Get your priorities straight.....
Reply:pretty seriously I would think. If you are interested in showing her you need to check out the breed standard and what she is required to have and not have to earn points toward her title. I do think that if her teeth are damaged it could hurt her. They look at her bite and this could cause issues.
Reply:That happened to one of mine recently. I had a root canal done to save the tooth. It should be fine as long as the judge can see the tooth is there. Although, if they can%26#039;t decide between two dogs, I could see it being a deciding factor.

Is it on the left or right? Some judges look at the left side but not the right.
Reply:Well lets see here....for the people that are talking about you should get her to the vet instead of worrying about a dog show. Well duh people I%26#039;m pretty sure the dog has already been to the vet. Hello are you people really that stupid? Anyway it depends on how bad the bite was affected. And you wont really know about that until a judge actually looks at him or her.
