i'm 13 and i'm getting my baby tooth pulled out in a week. it's one of my canine teeth, and the adult tooth is like growing above it. have you heard of/seen something like this before? will the adult tooth move into the place of the baby tooth? will getting my tooth pulled hurt?
this is sorta off the subject, but do hawley retainers close gaps?
I'm getting a baby tooth pulled out?
don't worry that's normal. your baby tooth is exfoliating and your permanent is erupting to replace the former.it is by the way the right time to have your tooth extracted because your permanent cuspid/canine is already there to replace your baby tooth. many of my patients have gone through like this before. we, dentist know the age of patients when exfoliation normally happen and when their permanent teeth erupts as they succeed the baby teeth. it will not really hurt during extraction, your dentist will give you local anesthetic to numb the area so you will not be hurting.yeah hawley retainers close the gap but it will be your dentist who will decide if you need it. it's normal you have the gap in between your teeth it's because your upper and lower jaw is growing. it will normally close but if it doesn't have it treated by your dentist. hope it help. im a dentist.
Reply:Yes the adult tooth will move in to place. I had this years ago when I was a kid. Getting the tooth pulled will not hurt as they numb your mouth first before they pull it.
Reply:i have the exact same thing and they r going to pull mine and give me braces.
Reply:DOnt Worry
it will be over before you know it.
Might have to eat soft food for a while like at the most a week
But it will be fine.
Reply:Hey dont worry about it be glad its only one i have had ten teeth pulled total! As many as four at a time. your adult tooth will move to the correct spot. just a fair warning when they numb you the numbness takes long time to wear off like 4-6 hours
