Do braces rubber bands move your JAW or TEETH?

my jaw has been in the same place since i started wearing my elastics, but i notice my bottom teeth shifting to the left.

is this normal? should my jaw be moving?

i wear my rubber bands on my left side of my mouth.

from my top farthest back molar on top to my lower canine on the bottom.

thanks :)

Your teeth should be moving, not jaws. That would be pretty painful.
Reply:you teeth should be moving not you jaw! and if it moves any more you should probably go to you dentist and tell them!
Reply:Well, rubber bands are designed to fix your bite. I have to wear three on the left and three on the right because I have an overbite the size of greater Alaska. Rather, I did. It's been getting smaller because my jaw (not my teeth) is slowly moving forward.

Meanwhile, it's the chains that move your teeth, not the rubber bands.
